ADULTS ACT UP –PUT ON A PLAY
Have fun, work together, develop new skills and gain confidence as a performer.
Who can enrol? There is no need to have previous experience in performance, you will learn all the skills needed during the classes. The focus is on fun, skill building and enjoyment. There will be the performance of a play script at the end of the season.
How does it work? Every player will get a good part in the set script. Participants will work with the cast, the director and the tech team and act in a real play.
What is the script? As we won’t be auditioning for actors, the people participating will drive the script selection. After week one, a script will be selected by the director and the parts will be cast.
How much time/commitment will it take? There will be two 1.5 hour sessions each week for 5 weeks and we ask that you commit to attend all sessions if at all possible. You will also be expected to learn some script for the play.
THE PROGRAMME
The programme will run for ten sessions over five weeks – on Tuesday and Thursday 7.30-9pm and finish with a performance that is open to the public but advertised privately.
Cost $250. There will be a maximum of 10 participants per group. Classes will start as soon as we have enough participants interested in joining. We are trying for a start date of 12th November 2019.
The programme will include improvisation, stage craft, character development and script work.
For the benefit of the group it is expected that participants attend at least 8 out of the 10 sessions.
